URBAN DISTRICT CARD:

Hello there! This is the last of my cards from last month's Card Buffet. I used the set Urban District and CASED this card from Rich at OnStage. I started with a Basic Grey base and added a layer of Urban District DSP on top. I added a piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock that I stamped with Archival Basic Black ink.

I added a piece of Urban District Washi Tape over the cardsock. I cut a strip from a Silver Foil Sheet and used the Simply Scored to score it every 1/4". I used a hot glue gun and the Silicone Craft Sheet to make the medallion. I attached it to the card base with Tear & Tape.

I folded a piece of Silver Satin Ribbon in half, trimmed the ends at an angle and attached it to the cardstock with Glue Dots. I stamped the sentiment with Basic Black Archival ink onto Basic Grey Cardstock and used my Paper Snips to cut it out. I attached it to the medallion with a Dimensional in the center. I ran a piece of Basic Black Baker's Twine around the card and tied a knot. I tucked a Mini Paperclip underneath to the DSP.

As I look at this card it's always going to remind me of my dad. I drove over to see him today. They put a feeding tube in his stomach. He did really well with the surgery and was kind of in & out all day. When he woke up he seemed really alert and looking around a little. I'm not sure if he knew who I was or not. I'd ask him questions, but he couldn't really answer me. I saw 2 older men about my dad's age and thought what I wouldn't give to see him walking in the halls. It was a rough day-I feel like we're losing him, and I cried the whole way home. People keep telling me you just never know what can happen, and I'm hanging on to that:) Thanks so much for stopping by:)

SPRINKLES OF LIFE CARD:

Hello there! Here's another card from my Card Buffet using the set Sprinkles of Life. I started with a Crumb Cake base and added a couple pieces of Playful Palette Washi Tape. I added a piece of Fruit Stand DSP over the top that I wrapped a piece of Bermuda Bay Stitched Ribbon around. I added a bow on top with a Glue Dot.

I stamped a strip of Wild Wasabi Cardstock with the grass image in Wild Wasabi ink, along with the leaves. I used the Fringe Scissors to make the grass and adhered it to a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock. I stamped the tree trunk with Soft Suede onto Whisper White Cardstock, and the birds with Sweet Sugarplum onto the same color cardstock. I used the Tree Builder Punch to punch all the pieces out.

I attached the trunk with Glue Dots and the leaves with Dimensionals. The birds were attached with Glue Dots. I used the Hello You Thinlits to cut out the sentiment from Whisper White Cardstock, and adhered with Liquid Tombow.

I used several retiring products on this card: Hello You Thinlits; Fringe Scissors; Fruit Stand DSP; Bermuda Bay Stitched Ribbon & Playful Palette Washi Tape. We only have a few more days to order these retiring products, so make sure you get what you want before they're gone. I still have a couple more projects to share, so please stop back. Thanks so much for coming by:)

SOMETHING FOR BABY CARDS:

Hello there! I've got a few cards I haven't shared from my Card Buffet yet. I made a boy & girl baby card using Something for Baby. I started with a Very Vanilla base and layered it with a piece I ran through the Big Shot using the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder. I added a piece of Party Animal Washi Tape and Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon. I then added banners over the top made with the Banners Framelits. I used By the Shore DSP along with Soft Sky, Mint Macaron & Calypso Coral Cardstock.

On top of the banners I added a square cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I stamped the onesie with Soft Sky ink and the tie with Calypso Coral. I used the coordinating Baby's First Framelits to cut them out along with the hanger.

For the sentiment I used Happy Happenings in Calypso Coral ink. I finished it off with a few In Color Enamel Shapes.
There are several retiring products used on this card: Something for Baby stamp set, Baby's First Framelits, Happy Happenings stamp set, Party Animal Washi Tape, Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon, Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, By the Shore DSP and In Color Enamel Dots.

For the girl card I used a Whisper White base and the Falling Petals Embossing Folder. I used Playful Palette Washi Tape and Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon.

I used Fruit Stand and Succulent Garden DSP, along with Mint Macaron Cardstock. I stamped the onesie in Pink Piruoette and the sentiment with Sweet Sugarplum ink.

I used the Baby's First Framelits to cut out the flower from Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock. I added an In Color Enamel Shape to the center of the flower and scattered a few more.

I used some retiring products on this card as well: Falling Petals Embossing Folder, Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon, Playful Palette Washi Tape, Succulent Garden & Fruit Stand DSP and In Color Enamel Shapes. I'm not sure if any of this makes any sense as I have Miss Elise on my lap and she refuses to get down. I'll try to get ano0ther card posted tomorrow but we're going to see my dad, so not sure if I'll make it back here or not. Thanks so much for stopping by:)

NAILED IT CARD FOR MY DAD:

Hello there! I'm sorry I've been away but my dad had a stroke 5 days ago.  He had a really good day today, and I'm just feeling so good after a couple of depressing days, that I thought I'd jump on here quick and share a card. I had forgot that I had two Father's Day cards that I hadn't posted yet and it made my heart sink a little bit seeing them. I obviously had him in mind when I was making them, and I wonder if he'll still be here with us by the time Father's Day gets here. This is the perfect card for my dad as he could build anything. He even built a tv, not only the cabinet to put it in, but the actual tv as well. Maybe I'll take this to him tomorrow just in case.

I used the Nailed It Bundle, along with the Urban Underground DSP and Embellishments. Unfortunately they're all gone. I started with a Delightful Dijon base and used the Hardwood background stamp with Early Espresso ink. I stamped the DSP with the Nailed It stamp set and Gorgeous Grunge. I used a Sponge Dauber in Early Espresso ink to dirty it up a bit.

I added a piece of Burlap Ribbon and added the tools made with Silver Foil Sheets and the Build It Framelits. I stamped the tool handles with Early Espresso onto the Urban Underground DSP. The only ink that didn't smear on the foil sheets was Black StazOn. I made sure to leave enough of the foil to attach the handles using Liquid Tombow. I stamped the sentiment onto Crumb Cake Cardstock, added a few Glue Dots to the back and attached some Linen Thread. I attached the sentiment with Dimensionals.

This is going to be a painful post, as every time I see this card I'm going to think of my dad. He will probably never regain the use of his left side, and he'll never be how he was before, but I'm so thankful the good Lord gave me this day with him. I don't know how many more I'll have but I'll always cherish the hours I had today. He just had his 84th birthday on May 9th and we took him out to lunch, and I'm so thankful we got to celebrate with him. If it's been awhile since you talked to your dad, give him a call or take him out to lunch. You just never know when it will be the last time. Thank you for letting me share my heart with you and for stopping by today:)

WATERCOLOR WISHES CARD:

Hello there! This is another card we made at my Card Buffet a couple of weeks ago. I have a gal who's new to stamping and she gave me some ideas of cards she liked from the catalog, so I CASED this card from page 48 of the Annual Catalog. I wanted to promote retiring products so I subbed Watercolor Wishes for the set they used. I started with an Early Espresso base and added a layer of Crumb Cake on top.

I used the Flourish Thinlits to cut out the leaves from So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz & Cajun Craze Cardstock. I attached them with tiny drops of Liquid Tombow. I stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock and flagged the ends.

I added a few Glue Dots to the back of the sentiment and added a swirl of Linen Thread. I then attached the sentiment with a couple of Dimensionals.

I love this beautiful & simple card that works for almost anyone. Unfortunately the Watercolor Wishes stamp set and card kit are already gone, but you can always use Flourishing Phrases as in the catalog. I've got a few more projects to share, so make sure to swing by tomorrow. Thanks so much for visiting!

THOUGHTS & PRAYERS CARD:

Hello there! This is one of the cards we made at my Card Buffet using the set Thoughts & Prayers. I started with a Very Vanilla base and trimmed off 1/2" from the right side. I attached a piece of Very Vanilla Lace Trim to the back side with tiny drops of Liquid Tombow.

I layered it with another piece of Very Vanilla that I punched with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I used the Papillion Potpourri stamp set for the butterfly antenna. Underneath is a piece of Falling In Love DSP that I adhered with SNAIL. I ran a piece of Tear & Tape along the back of the left edge and adhered a piece of Tip Top Taupe Striped Ribbon. I punched out 3 butterflies from a scrap of Very Vanilla using the Bitty Butterfly Punch and attached them with a Glue Dot. I added a Basic Pearl to each.

I stamped the sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers with Tip Top Taupe ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and flagged the end. I added a dot of Liquid Tombow in the corner and added a folded piece of the striped ribbon that I had cut in half. I then added a Falling In Love Embellishment with a Glue Dot to keep the ribbon secure.

There are several retiring products I used to make this card: Papillion Potpourri stamp set, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Tip Top Taupe Striped Ribbon and Falling In Love Embellishments. Some of the other retiring products used on this card are already gone, so don't wait too long if you've been thinking about ordering any of the above. Make sure to swing by again tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping by:)

MOTHER'S DAY BUTTERFLIES:

Hello there! My hubby asked me to come up with a Mother's Day project for his Sunday School class and this is the card they made. I started with a Mint Macaron base and used a retired embossing folder for the background. I stamped the wreath with VersaMark and used the Heat Tool to emboss it with White Embossing Powder. I then used the Wonderful Wreath Framelits with the help of the Big Shot to cut it out.
I tied a piece of retired baker's twine around the wreath and tied a bow at the top. I adhered it to the base with Dimensionals.
I folded a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in half and ran it through the Big Shot using the Butterflies Thinlits. This gave me a solid embossed butterfly for the bottom and a cut out butterfly for the top. I layered them on the wreath with Glue Dots.

I then used the smallest of the Butterflies Thinlits and ran it through the Big Shot again using the retired SAB glimmer paper. I attached it to the butterflies with Glue Dots. Next I stamped the sentiment from Circle of Spring with Tip Top Taupe onto So Saffron Cardstock and used the 1" Circle Punch to cut it out. I attached it to the glimmer butterfly with a Dimensional.

I finished it off with a few retired enamel shapes. He said they really enjoyed making a card for their moms and bailed several out who hadn't gotten one yet:)

I made one of these little nifty gifties for each to go along with their card. I used the Curvy Keepsake Thinlits with various DSP's of Mint Macaron & Sweet Sugarplum. I used the Butterflies Thinlits again in Whisper White and glimmer paper.

I cut the butterflies in half, layered them and glued them on both sides of the handle using Liquid Tombow. I used the tag die included with Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the sentiment with Tip Top Taupe ink. I attached them to the handle with retired baker's twine. I made the flower with Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock using the flower die from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits. I added a retired enamel dot to the center.

These projects were a big hit with his class and I got to use up some retired product. And speaking of retired...the following will be retiring at the end of the month: Circle of Spring, Wonderful Wreath Framelits & Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits. Make sure to get them before they're gone! I had a nice relaxing day and hope you did too! I still have more to share from my Card Buffet so stop back...and hopefully I'll remember:) Thanks so much for coming by!

WISH BIG CARD:

Hello there! I had a request for a little girl birthday card, so we made these at my Card Buffet last week. I used the Biggest Birthday Ever/Wish Big Framelits Bundle. I really love this bundle and hate to see it retire:( I started with a Blushing Bride base and used Timeless Textures with Whisper White Craft ink for the background. I added a strip of the Gold Satin Ribbon and adhered it with SNAIL.

I layered a Fabulous Foil Acetate sheet over a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and ran them through the Big Shot using the Lots of Labels Framelits. I attached the acetate sheet to the cardstock with 2 Glue Dots at the top and covered it with a piece of a Delicate White Doily. I ran a piece of So Saffron/gold Baker's Twine from the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit, around the top and tied a bow. I trimmed a small piece of the gold ribbon and tucked it under the label with a Glue Dot.

For the crown I traced the inside of the die with a pencil onto Blushing Bride Cardstock, cut it out with Paper Snips, and stamped the swirls with Blushing Bride ink. I then ran the crown, heart & star dies through the Big Shot using Gold Glimmer Paper, and layered the blushing bride on top using Glue Dots. I added the Blushing Bride Sequin Trim along the bottom with Glue Dots as well. I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of Festive Birthday DSP with Soft Suede ink. I attached it to a piece of Tasty Treats DSP with Glue Dots and tucked them under the crown using SNAIL.

I added the glimmer hearts & stars with Liquid Tombow, and the sequins with Glue Dots. The Blushing Bride Sequin Trim, Gold Satin Ribbon and Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit will all be retiring at the end of the month. The Gold Satin Ribbon is 40% off and the Embellishment Kit is 30% off. You can check out everything on the Retiring List at: www.lauramellinger.stampinup.net. Lots of great deals, but only while supplies last! Stop back tomorrow-I still have lots to share. Thanks so much for coming by:)

LOVE & AFFECTION CARD:

Hello there! Here's another card from my Card Buffet featuring the set Love & Affection, which will be retiring, along with several other products. I started with a Crumb Cake base. On top of that I added a piece of Watermelon Wonder Cardstock. I lined up one of the Floral Affection Embossing Folders along the bottom and ran it through the Big Shot to get the lovely floral design. I'm really sad this is going away-this was the first time I got to use it:(

I added a piece of the coordinating Affectionately Yours DSP over the top third of the cardstock. I then wrapped a piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around a strip of Night of Navy Cardstock and tied a bow. I stamped the sentiment with Watermelon Wonder ink onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and flagged the ends. I stamped the sweet little flowers with Mint Macaron & Daffodil Delight ink. I attached it with Dimensional pieces along the edge, clearing the baker's twine.

I had found this card on the SU! blog and thought it would be a pretty quick & simple card for my buffet, but I decided to add some Affectionately Yours Washi Tape. I simply folded a couple strips in half, trimmed the bottoms and tucked them under the sentiment with Glue Dots. I finished it off with a couple of pearls from the Sprinkles Embellishments using Liquid Tombow.

Sadly the Love & Affection stamp set will be retiring at the end of the month, along with the Affectionately Yours DSP & Washi Tape. The Floral Affection Embossing Folders, Sprinkles Embellishments and Crushed Curry Baker's Twine are leaving as well, so make sure to get them while you still can. Make sure to swing by tomorrow for another card. Thanks so much for stopping by!

PLAYFUL PALS:

Hello there! This fun group came along with me to my Card Buffet last week:) The Playful Pals stamp set and Pyramind Pals Thinlits are retiring at the end of the month and I wanted to show them a little more love before they go:(

Oops, I forgot the cow. I was literally making these as I was going out the door, and I was trying to get a few pics before.

For the giraffe I used Delightful Dijon and Early Espresso. I used the elephant trunk piece to make his neck. I stamped the eyes and cut them out with the dies. I then used a Delightful Dijon Marker to color the eyelids and around the eyes.

For the frog I used Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder for his tongue. I just used a Bone Folder to curl it and adhered it with Liquid Tombow.

For the elephant I used Smoky Slate. So sorry these pictures are so blurry, but hopefully you get the idea.

For the pig I used Flirty Flamingo. For the tail I just used Paper Snips to mimic the swirls on front.

For the lion I used So Saffron and Soft Suede.

For the cat I used Whisper White & Blushing Bride.

For the owl I used Sahara Sand and Pumpkin Pie.

For the dog I used Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip.

For the cow I used Whisper White and apparently a crappy Basic Black pad:)

For the bear I used Chocolate Chip I think, maybe Early Espresso...honestly I can't remember, and Crumb Cake.

These little pals were so much fun to make and were a big hit:) I wish I could have added some embellishments, but I just ran out of time. Remember these guys are only around until the end of the month, or as long as supplies last. Get 'em while you can! Come back tomorrow for another card we made last week. Thanks so much for stopping by:)
