GIFTS OF KINDNESS CARD:

Hello there! Did you think I fell off the face of the earth? Sorry for the break. My hubby and me signed up for the Body Makeover Challenge at the Y and we've been hitting the gym an hour a day, and planning and cooking healthy meals takes a lot of time. Throw a 2 year old in the mix and it's amazing I get anything done at all!

I've had two dear friends lose loved ones to cancer recently~a brother and a daughter. I can't even begin to imagine. I made them each this card using the set Gifts of Kindness.

I started with a base made from the Natural Composition Specialty DSP. I added a Tea Lace Doily to the corner and trimmed off the excess. I made a tag out of Very Vanilla Cardstock and some Linen Thread. I used the Cupcake Builder Punch to punch out the smaller hole and the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to punch the larger one. Not an easy task~why SU! did away with the handheld circle punches, I'll never know???

I colored the image with Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding Markers. I stamped the flowers a sceond time, cut them out and layered them on top with Glue Dots. For the flower center, I just knotted a few small pieces of Linen Thread, attached them to a Glue Dot, trimmed off the ends and flufffed them up a bit. I added a strip of Venetian Romance DSP behind the tag and stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede. I just wanted to let my friends know that I was thinking about them and praying for their families.

As some of you may know, SU! is having a promotion for My Paper Pumpkin. Through February 10th, new subscribers get a FREE set of In Color Markers~a $14.95 value! I'm so excited for my current subscribers and the brand new ones, as they are going to be beefing up the kits starting with February's kit. I've seen a sneak peek of the February & March kits and they look awesome:)

These are the cards that came in January's kit, Love Notes~just in time for Valentine's Day. The top card is made according to one of the samples in the kit, and the other 3 I did my own thing. That's what's so great about these projects; and I had tons of stickers left over to use on something else:)

This kit was extra fun because there were 2 different cards. Unfortunately, this kit is no longer available, but if you sign up by February 10, you'll get the Welcome Kit, along with a block and the FREE Markers, and you'll get in on the March kit, which I know you'll love!

I need to apologize for these pictures...I'm breaking in a new camera and trying to figure out the lighting business, which I haven't done yet obviously. Bear with me~you know how I love technology!

And this month was extra exciting because SU! threw in a surprise gift! Gotta love those guys:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

BIRTHDAY CAKE CARD:

Hello there! Today I have a birthday card made with the single stamp Birthday Cake and Yippee-Skippee! I started with a Crumb Cake base and added a layer of Raspberry Ripple Core'dinations Cardstock that I roughed up a bit. I then added a layer of Birthday Basics DSP. I stamped the cake image on Very Vanilla Cardstock using Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple & Summer Starfruit Markers. I added a little Bermuda Bay flower punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and popped a Basic Rhinestone in the center.

I then made a little banner using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch .

I used 3 other designs from the Birthday Basics DSP and attached them with Dimensionals. I added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine across the top with Liquid Tombow.

I stamped the sentiment with Basic Grey ink onto Summer Starfruit, Bermuda Bay and Crisp Cantaloupe Cardstock, cut it apart and adhered it with Glue Dots. This was a fun card to put together without a lot of time or effort~the perfect kind of card! Thanks so much for stopping by:)

THOUGHTS & PRAYERS CARD:

Hello there! Today I have another card that I robbed from the annual catalog. I used Thoughts & Prayers and used the card on page 93 as a starting point. Actually, it's almost the same, except the one in the catty is better:) But it will be a nice sympathey card for someone when I need it. I started with a Crumb Cake base and added a layer of  Very Vanilla Cardstock. I stamped the tree in Old Olive and stamped it off again next to it. I used the set Gorgeous Grunge for the background and stamped it in Pool Party ink.

I folded a piece of Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon in half and stitched it onto the card using my sewing machine. I wrapped some Linen Thread around it and tied a bow, which I did before I adhered it to the base. I tucked a piece of a Tea Lace Doily underneath along with a bit of Season of Style Washi Tape and added a Naturals Button on top.

I finished it off with a flag at the top that I stitched with my sewing machine again. I couldn't remember how to use it so I kind of made a mess, but I kind of like it:) I added a little more Season of Style Washi Tape to add a little color on top. As it goes with sympathy cards, I hope I don't need to use it anytime soon, but if I do, I'm ready. Thanks so much for stopping by today:)

REMEMBERING YOUR BIRTHDAY CARD:

Hello there! Today I have a fun birthday card to share with you, perfect for any cupcake~lover! Well maybe not a guy, but it would work for anyone who likes pink...and sprinkles:) I used the sets Remembering Your Birthday and Create A Cupcake. I started with a Strawberry Slush base and embossed it using the Perfect Polka Dots Folder and Big Shot. On top of that I added a layer of Quatrefancy Specialty DSP that I notched out with a 1" Circle Punch. I added some 1" circles in Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party that I adhered to the back before attaching.

I atamped the sentiment in Strawberry Slush and wiped off the word sprinkles with a baby wipe. I then colored the letters with Tempting Turquiose, Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Markers and stamped it onto Whisper White Cardstock. I attached a Pool Party flag to the back decorated with a Pool Party Candy Dot and Early Espresso Baker's Twine. For the cupcake, I punched the base out with the Cupcake Builder Punch in Chocolate Chip and used the Simply Scored to resemble a cupcake liner. For the top, I punched out the frosting from a piece of Strawberry Slush Cardstock and covered it with Sticky Strip. I then swirled Strawberry Slush Ruffle Trim 'frosting' all over it conforming it to the shape. I adhered the top part to the WW Cardstock using Glue Dots and used Dimensionals to attach the bottom to the cardstock. I then sprinked it with Brights, Neutrals and Subtles Candy Dots.

I couldn't resist adding some sprinkles to the inside as well! I just used the Cupcake Builder Punch again to make the sprinkles and glued them in place with Liquid Tombow.

This card was a little more time-consuming than others but well worth the extra effort I think. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the sunshine today:)

BLAST OFF CARD:

Hello there! I have a birthday card to share with you today. If I'm struggling for inspiration, I love to go through SU! publications for ideas and then change them up a bit. The original idea for this card is on page 49 in the Annual Catalog. I converted it from a square card and changed the background. It's a fun way to jumpstart your creativity if it's not wanting to cooperate:) I started with a Smoky Slate base and stamped the background in it as well. I added a Pacific Point moon and cut it out with the Big Shot and Circles Collection Framelits.

I stamped the spaceship in Cherry Cobbler and cut out the window by hand, but you could easily use a circle punch instead. I adhered a Window Sheet to the back side with Liquid Tombow. I stamped the adorable alien in Pear Pizzazz, cut him out and attached him to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I then, double-stacked Dimensionals and attached him to the spaceship.  I added some Basic Rhinestones for fun.  The flames were stamped in Daffodil Delight and the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz. I added a little detail to the alien with a crushed Curry Marker~or maybe Pumpkin Pie, not sure which??? Sorry, I already mailed it so I can't check. Either will work:)

Such a fun card to make and I'm sure any little boy would love to get this in the mail:) Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A FITTING OCCASION CARD:

Hello there! Today I have a Shabby Chic card that would send a warm welcome to a brand new little lady. I used the set A Fitting Occasion and started with a Baked Brown Sugar base. I stamped the background in Baked Brown Sugar as well. I took a piece of Venetian Romance DSP and added a Baked Brown Sugar Ruffle to the bottom.  For the top, I added a Blushing Bride scalloped trim made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and snipped a strip from one of the Tag A Bag Gift Bags.

For the focal point, I started with a Pistachio Pudding tag that I stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and punched out with the Curly Label Punch. On top of that I added a piece of Blushing Bride Chevron Ribbon and on top of that I added a label in Very Vanilla. Next, I stamped the sentiment in Blushing Bride Cardstock and punched it out with a 1" Circle Punch. On top of that I stamped the petite pachiderm and punched her out with the 3/4" Circle Punch. I added lots of Dimensionals between all layers to give some dimension. Finally, I attached the tag to one of the Vintage Trinkets using Linen Thread, and adhered it with a couple of Glue Dots.

I was really happy with how my romantic little card turned out. I hope you like it too:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

ZOO BABIES CARD:

Hello there! As I mentioned in an earlier post, I sent an assortment of cards to my sister-in-law in Georgia for Christmas. I have several that I haven't shared with you yet, so I'll be doing that over the next week or so. This is a sweet little card made with Zoo Babies. It's pretty easy to make a cute card with this set because of all the adorable animals. I started with a Crumb Cake base and added a piece of Birthday Basics DSP with Dimensionals. I stamped the little critters in Crisp Cantalope, Bermuda Bay, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit onto Whisper White Cardstock. I punched them out with a 1 3/4" Circle Punch and attached them with Dimensionals as well.

I restamped the images or parts of them and popped them up with Dimensionals to add some character. For the rhino, I added a Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon accent. For the giraffe, I added some Crisp Cantalope Ruffle Trim. For the gator, I made a banner with a toothpick and a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock cut out with the Big Shot and Bitty Banner Framelits. For the elephant, I added a Raspberry Ripple heart punched with the Owl Builder Punch.

I made this insert for the inside.

Before I adhered the DSP, I rounded the corners with the 3/16" Corner Punch and used the Chalk Talk Framelits to punch the slot for the Summer Starfruit Stitched Ribbon to go through. Such a fun card to make to welcome a new little baby. Tomorrow I'll share one for a baby girl. Thanks so much for stopping by:)

HAPPY HOUR CARD:

Hello there! Happy Monday to you. And Happy Snow Day too:) My hubby's birthday was New Year's Eve and this is the card that I made him. We went to a nice restaurant in town called Martinis. I had a couple martinis and he had a couple of mojitos...yummmmm:) I joked with him and asked if he was depressed that now he was officially a Senior Citizen. He said it didn't bother him. I told him I was depressed for him...until we remembered the Senior Citizen Discount! Turns out that we didn't need it though. Our daughter Olivia, who works there, picked up the tab:) One of the benefits of getting older...so do your children, and you realize how wonderful they've turned out:)

I started with a Baked Brown Sugar base and ran it through the Big Shot using the new SAB Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. I stamped the images using Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron and Coastal Cabana Markers. I used the Circles Framelits Collection to cut them out. The sentiment is stamped on Tangerine Tango Cardstock using Baked Brown Sugar ink.

I added a strip of Retro Fresh DSP and some coordinating Washi Tape on top. Quick & easy & fun!

It was a great night and fun to get away with my sexy Senior Citizen for a couple of hours! Thanks so much for stopping by:)

LOVE YOU MORE CARD:

Hello there! As promised, I have a few Valentine's Day projects to share with you:) SU! has added 'A Whole Lot Of Love' just in time for Valentine's Day, but the products aren't in any of our catalogs. This card was made with the set Love You More. I'll have a link at the end of this post where you can find all the fun products I'm sharing with you today:) I started with a Real Red base and added a layer that was run through the Big Shot using the Stripes Embossing Folder.

I inked up the stamp with Pool Party, Basic Grey and Calypso Coral Markers, and stamped the image onto Whisper White Cardstock. I added a Real Red heart punched with the Owl Builder Punch and attached it with a rolled Glue Dot. I attached the image onto a piece of I Am Me DSP and flagged the bottom. I added a piece of Epic Day Washi Tape to the top and wrapped some Calypso Coral Baker's Twine around it.

I stole this idea from our Stampin' Success Magazine this month. Really quick and easy to put together!

I made a sweet little Valentine's Day favor for everyone who attended Card Night this week:

Aren't they just the cutest thing eva! These little Monster Hugs Girls come in a Kit which makes enough treats for 18. The only thing I added were the nuggets and some DSP to wrap around them.

And the pay off...also included are these sweet little stickers. I thought this was the perfect place for one:)

I also got a set of the boys for my grandbabies to send out. You can put the sticker here if you's prefer, but I think the backside is a lot more fun. These were so much fun to put together and didn't take much time or effort. And I think 18 for $5.95 is a great deal for such a cute project!

I had a little extra something for my Club Members as well. I can't say what's inside because some haven't gotten them yet. These little treat bags are part of the Whole Lot of Love promotion as well.

The Sweetheart Treat Bags kit comes with 12 bags, Pool Party labels and Baker's Twine. I added the sentiment which is from Love You More and punched it out with a 1" Circle Punch. I punched the heart out with a 1/2" Circle Punch and added a little flag underneath in Real Red. I attached these pieces with Dimensionals and Glue Dots.

Our first Card Night of the year was lots of fun and I loved sharing thses sweet little treats with everyone who came:) Here's a link to all the Valentine's Day products available:

http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryID=1712

These are only available until January 27th or while supplies last! Let me know if you're interested in any as these little cuties will probably go fast! Thanks so much for stopping by:)

SEE YA LATER CARD:

Hello there! Boy am I sore today~but in a good way:) I've hit the Y two days in a row and I am feeling it. I haven't done any activity for 5 months except Christmas shopping and shoveling Christmas cookies into my mouth. Surprisingly, I was able to do more that I thought:) Today I have a card featuring my favorite SAB offering See Ya Later. Sale-A-Bration is just around the corner starting January 28 and running til March 31. For every $50 you spend, you get to pick out an exclusive product for FREE~and there are 13 different products to choose from! I started with a Basic Black base and added a layer of Pistachio Pudding Cardstock that I ran through the Big Shot using the Houndstooth Embossing Folder.

Before I adhered the cardstock, I ran a piece of thick baker's twine around and tied a knot. I tucked a piece of Sweet Sorbet DSP under the twine~also a SAB option. I wasn't too sure about the bold black with the delicate pastels, but I liked it when I saw it in real life:) I stamped the whole image in Pistachio Pudding, then colored the sentiment with a Basic Black Marker and stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock. I added another design of DSP from the Sweet Sorbet pack and added some fun little cork finishings with the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. Also a SAB offering, it includes a sheet of printed adhesive-backed cork and 10 yards each of Crisp Cantalope, Pool Party and Summer Starfruit Twine. I love the twine~it's extra chunky and fun! Kinda like me... except I don't love the extra chunky part:(

I finished it off with a pair of Sahara Sand Candy Dots and called 'er done. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the SAB offerings in action~lots of fun this year! Check back tomorrow for a couple of Valentine's Day projects:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

GEOMETRICAL CARD:

Hello there! I have a card to share with you that features a brand new set from the Occasions Catalog which went live today:) Going by the name, this would not be a set I would like. Algebra, maybe, but Geometry...no way! But for some reason, I really like it. This was one of the cards we made at Card Night last night. We had a fun group to kick off the new year:) I started with a Very Vanilla base and stamped the circles in So Saffron. I added a piece of groovy Retro Fresh DSP, also brand-spanking new!

I stamped the tag in Tangerine Tango and cut it out with the Chalk Talk Framelits and Big Shot. I added a Coastal Cabana arrow and some Linen Thread. I added a sweet little scallop border in So Saffron using the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The Retro Fresh Washi Tape felt right at home.

I saved a little bit by getting the bundle which included the coordinating Triangle Punch. I popped 3 triangles out in Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana and another design of Retro Fresh DSP. I finished it off with a Subtles Button accessorized with a bit of Linen Thread. This was a fun card to make and will bring a smile to whoever you send it to. Check back tomorrow for a card using some Sale-A-Bration products that you can earn for FREE later this month! Thanks so much for stopping by:)
