HEARTS A FLUTTER CARD:

Hello there! I have a card to share with you made with Hearts A Flutter, another retiring set. I started with a Silver Foil Sheet base and added a layer of Silver Glimmer Paper, which unfortunately is gone, but we'll have more in the brand new catalog that is coming...more on that in a bit! I embossed the pennants with White Embossing Powder onto Blushing Bride and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, and the heart onto Strawberry Slush Cardstock. I used the coordinating Framelits along with the Big Shot to cut them out.

I layered the pennants with Pumpkin Pie and Blushing Bride scalloped pennants onto Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped and cut out 2 hearts in Pumpkin Pie ink. I attached the bottom one to the scalloped heart, scored the other and attached it on top of the other with Glue Dots. The sentiment is from Sweet Essentials and stamped in Strawberry Slush. I used the Paper-piercing Mat & Tool to poke holes in the pieces and string them with White Baker's Twine. I added a bow and attached it with a Glue Dot and added an In Color Boutique Detail, and Subtles Button to each of the pennants.

The retiring products used are:
Hearts A Flutter & Sweet Essentials stamp sets
Silver Glimmer Paper
In Color Boutique Details

And now for something really fun! Last night, Stampin'  Up! rented out 40 theatres across the US and Canada for the Catalog Premiere. This was a first for all of us, and it was an exciting event. There were lots of Prize Patrols as usual, and everyone left with a brand new catalog to drool over and a brand new stamp set as well!

They really put a lot of work into making this catalog very user-friendly. They have lots of projects that are separated into categories for new, casual or avid stampers. They showcase projects that can be made simply and they show how you can step up the projects if that's more your style. And they have all the products pictured next to the projects so you can see at a glance what you'll need to make the projects. There's plenty of bundles throughout the catalog also which save you money:) So many fun, new & exciting products! I can't wait to share it with you on Thursday at Card Night:) I now need to get back to work and get everything ready to go! Thanks so much for stopping by:)

HELLO, LOVELY CARD:

Hello there! I have a quickie post for you today, as I'm getting ready to head to Des Moines and get my hands on the brand new catalog! Can't wait:) And I'm super excited to be able to get away with my hubby for a couple of days:0 Hello, Lovely is another retiring set that I didn't use near enough. I took the sketch for this card from the catalog but changed up the colors. I started with a Basic Grey Core'dinations base, and layered a piece of Crumb Cake Core'dinations on top. I used the Big Shot and Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, and the Sanding System to distress it. I'm really going to miss the Core'dinations Cardstock~it's so much fun to transform it to reveal the awesome texture. Wah, wah, wah:(

I added a strip of Epic Day DSP on top of the Crumb Cake and sort of stitched it in place~I managed to jam up my sewing machine again>: I guess I need to use it more than once every 3 months. I punched a label with the Artisan Label Punch and adhered it with Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey, cut it out and attached with Dimensionals also. Finally, I poked a couple of small holes in the DSP and put a Vintage Trinket safety pin through it and hung a piece of 7/16" Trim on it.

I guess that really wasn't a quickie. Here's the retiring items:
Hello, Lovely stamp set
Epic Day DSP
Core'dinations cardstock:(
Vintage Trinkets
7/16" Trim-not really sure; no time to look:)
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll fill you in on everything tomorrow:)

BRIGHT BLOSSOMS CARD:

Hello there! I'm hoping this bright & sunny card will bring a little sunshine to this dark & gloomy day. I used the retiring set Bright Blossoms. I love the framed picture the artist made in the catalog using this set, so I just converted it to a card. I would have preferred to use Baja Breeze for the base, but we won't go there:( I started with a Soft Sky base and ran it through the Big Shot using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. I was so sad to see this folder on the Retiring List~it's one I'm going to hang on to for a long time.

I used the Label Love stamp set for the frame. I covered up the sentiment with a post it note, stamped the frame in Soft Sky and punched it out with the coordinating punch. The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases, which is already gone in clear, I think. I stamped it in Melon Mambo ink. I stamped the flower image in Pear Pizzazz onto the label using the Stamp-a-ma-jig. I stamped the image again in Daffodil Delight and used the Owl Builder Punch and Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to punch out the circles. I attached them with Dimensionals.

I layered a piece of Gingham Garden DSP to the base and added a layer of Whisper White that I poked 2 small holes into. I attached a Vintage Trinket safety pin, which was not an easy task. I don't know how the artist did it without mangling the paper like I did? Finally, I tied a bow to the safety pin using Linen Thread, which isn't as easy as it looks either. I cut a longer piece than you would think you would need (after the first one was too short), and adhered it to the back of the label with SNAIL. I tied the bow and then removed the thread from the adhesive and cut it in half. I held each end of thread down with a Dimensional, added a couple more and adhered it to the cardstock. It looks like a very simple card, but kinda really wasn't at all. I'll have to save this one for someone really special, because I don't think I'll be making more.

Here's the retiring items:
Bright Blossoms & Fabulous Phrases stamp sets
Gingham Garden DSP
Framed Tulips Embossing Folder
Vintage Trinkets
Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (being reconfigured)

I'm going to try to get another card posted tonight or in the morning. I'm going to Des Moines for the next 2 days to go to the Catalog Premiere Launch! That means I'll have the brand-spanking new catalog tomorrow! And I'll be able to share it with you on Thursday at Card Night:) Yay! I'll fill you in when I get back on Tuesday. Thanks so much for stopping by!

CRAZY, MIXED -UP LOVE CARD:

Hello there! Another beautiful sunshiney day out there:) And I have another card made with a set that will be going away soon. I think Crazy, Mixed-Up Love is such a fun set~maybe because I'm old as dirt and remember having a lava lamp back in the day. I started with a Very Vanilla base and added a piece of Venetian Romance DSP. I thought this design was really ugly and couldn't imagine ever using it, but it makes some awesome lava in the background don't you think?

I used the On Film Framelits along with the Big Shot to cut out the frame in Daffodil Delight. It seemed to fit with this retro-hipster design, along with the Retro Fresh Washi Tape~oh yeah, baby!  I stamped the lamp in Tangerine Tango onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and colored the background with So Saffron and Pool Party Markers. I added an Essentials Wooden Element with a Cute Clip on top. I stamped the sentiment in Tangerine onto Coastal Cabana and attached it with Glue Dots. I had to get some flower-power in there with the Boho Blossoms Punch.

I added a couple of Neutrals Candy Dots and globbed a bunch of Crystal Effects onto the lava lamp. I let it dry and checked it out this morning, and am loving the effect:) I hope you are digging this groovy card as much as I am. Here's the items that are retiring:
Crazy, Mixed-Up Love stamp set
Venetian Romance DSP
Hung Up Cute Clips

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the gorgeousness out there:)

BUG ME CARD:

Hello there! I wanted to share a card I made with Bug Me, a soon to be retired set. As I type, it's still available in wood mount, but the clear is gone. I started with a Pool Party base and added a piece of I Am Me DSP. I'm going to miss this paper~I love the combination of subtle and bright. I used the Fringe Scissors on a piece of Wild Wasabi Cardstock and wrapped around some Wild Wasabi Stitched Ribbon before adhereing it to the base.

I used the Word Bubbles Framelits to cut out the clouds~they make the best clouds eva don't you think? I stamped off the butterfly wings in Pool Party onto the polka dot design dsp and cut them out. I stamped the body, caterpillar head, legs and antennae in Basic Grey. I cut out the butterfly body, tied a piece of Calypso Coral Baker's Twine around it, and attached it with Glue Dots. The banner is from the Hostess set Express Yourself and is stamped in Calypso Coral. I stamped the catterpillar in So Saffron, Real Red, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi and Calypso Coral and punched the circles out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I attached them with Glue Dots.

Hopefully I can get some more cards made with retiring sets before they're gone. Things are flying off the warehouse shelves though, so if you're interested in any retiring items, you better act fast. And remember, through today you get FREE SHIPPING!

Here's the retiring items that I used: Bug Me & Express Yourself Stamps
I Am Me DSP
Wild Wasabi Stitched Ribbon & Calypso Coral Baker's Twine
Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack is being reconfigured

APRIL PAPER PUMPKIN:

Hello there! I'm excited to share this month's Paper Pumpkin with you:) The Framed With Love Kit came with this adorable little frame and it looks perfect in my stamp room:)

I added a piece of Pool Party Seam Binding to the back of mine so I could hang it and I also traded out the smaller Faceted Button for a larger one~the big ones are a little too much for cards, but worked perfectly for this.

The kit came with this adorable belly band, ribbbon and a bunch of tags.

One of the best things about Paper Pumpkin is all the leftover supplies you get. I had enough to make a coordinating card~the only thing I added was extra ribbon for the card.

But the VERY best part of Paper Pumpkin is the surprise every month! Can't wait to see what next month will be:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

MAY CARD NIGHT SNEAK PEEKS:

Hello there! I have some sneak peeks of the cards we'll be making at our next Card Night~Thursday, May 1st. Unfortunately every year we have to say good~bye to some products to make room for all the new & exciting things coming. One of my favorites that will be retiring is Animal Talk, so we need to give it a proper send off.

Another set that is going away is Oh, Hello. I paired it with my all-time favorite Gingham Garden DSP and Washi Tape. I've finally gotten my hands on the Fringe Scissors, so you'll be able to play with them as well:)

Sorry this picture isn't more exciting...I'm waiting on my Gold Baker's Twine to finish it off. It features the single stamp People Like You.

And of course we need a Father's Day card since it will be here before we know it. I used the set Look Up to Father and the background stamp Hardwood.

Please let me know if you plan to attend by this Friday, April 25. And speaking of April 25th...you have until then to get FREE SHIPPING on your orders! That means you save 10% just in time for the Retiring Lists that just came out. See them here: http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=1894 Make sure you act quickly~things are already disappearing:( Thanks so much for stopping by!

SCALLOPED TAG TREAT HOLDER:

Hello there! Here's a quick and easy treat holder that my Club Members and downline made at Card Night last week. I found an awesome tutorial here: www.dianebarnes.blogspot.com. I started with an 8" x 2" piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock and scored it at 3 1/2" from each side. Then I punched both ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I wrapped a piece of Gingham Garden DSP around the box after I assembled it, and then added a piece of Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon.

I stuck 2 Kit Kat bars inside and then added a piece of Island Indigo Chevron Ribbon through the top to close it.

The sentiment is from Kind & Cozy and stamped in Island Indigo onto Whisper White Cardstock. I flagged the end and added a flower made with the Boho Blossoms Punch and the 1/2" Circle Punch. I finished it off with an In Color Dahlia to the center and attached it with a Glue Dot.

You could easily change this up to work for Easter treats. Thanks so much for stopping by today:)

SPIRAL FLOWER FAVORS:

Hello there! I wanted to share these little favors that I made for each of the gals who came to Card Night last week. I used the Spiral Flower Die from the Occasions Catalog. Instead of working from the small end, I started at the larger end. First I used a Bone Folder along the flower to make it a little more pliable and it helps it to form a spiral. I overlapped the end slightly onto the next petal using a hot glue gun. I punched out a 1" Circle in the same color as the flower, loaded it up with hot glue and worked the spiral around onto it, keeping my thumb in the center of the flower.

I had to add a little more glue to the end, as it dried too fast. It takes a little practice-my first few were a mess! Once I got the basic flower, I kind of smashed it down with my palm and folded the petals down. I took the wide end of the Bone Folder and flattened out the center. I took a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock and punched out a circle using the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. I used my Paper Snips to cut slits all the way around and folded them in towards the center. I adhered it to the center of the flower using the glue gun and used the Bone Folder again to flatten the center.

I stuck a Hershey's kiss in the center with a Dimensional~you may need to stack a couple. Next, I punched out 2 leaves using the Large Oval Punch and Polka Dot Parade DSP. I attached the flower to a tag made with the set Tag It and cut it out with the Chalk Talk Framelits.

I colored the tool with a Smoky Slate Marker and the sentiment  and handle in Rose Red. I also made some with Perfect Plum and Primrose Petals. I think the flowers will be much easier to make without the kisses in the center. I'll have to give it a try:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

TAG A BAG HOSTESS GIFT:

Hello there! So sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday. I was corraling the little monkey last night and by the time he left, I was ready for bed! I made this for my Hostess gift this month. I used the Tag A Bag Bundle, but converted the bag to make it stand up. I scored the bag at 1" on each side and 1 1/4" along the bottom. I folded the sides to make a gusset or accordian. I cut along the score lines at the bottom so that it made a base. I used Washi Tape to seal the bottom and added a piece of cardstock to the bottom on the inside of the bag for extra support~to hold all the chocolate of course!

I added a piece of Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon around the top and made a tag using the Tag A Bag Accessory Kit. I used the set Hello, Lovely for the sentiment and stamped it in Bermuda Bay and Tangerine Tango ink. I thread a piece of  Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon through a Vintage Faceted Button and attached it with a couple of Glue Dots.

This little bag holds quite a bit of chocolate, so SCORE for this month's Hostess! Make sure to check back for a couple more fun projects I shared at Card Night. Thanks so much for stopping by:)

POMP & CIRCUMSTANCE CARD:

Hello there! Here's the final card we made at Card Night last week, using Pomp & Circumstance. I borrowed the layout from a tag in the Occasions catalog and changed it up a bit. I started with a Crumb Cake base and used the Perfect Pennants set to add the stripe banner at the bottom in Basic Grey. Next, I ran a piece of Calypso Coral Cardstock through the Big Shot using the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder.

I used the Chevron Border Punch on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and then stamped the image in Basic Grey. I wrapped some calypso Coral Baker's Twine around the white and attached it to the Calypso Coral with Dimensionals.

I flagged the bottom of each piece of cardstock and added a piece of Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon underneath. I stamped the star image from Perfect Pennants in Crushed Curry onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out. I, then stamped the dots onto a piece of Crumb Cake and tucked it under the twine. I added the star with a Glue Dot and put a Brights Button in the center. I stamped the cap in Pacific Point, cut it out and attached it with a Dimensional. I finished it off with a Brights Candy Dot in the center of the cap. I'm sure I'll be making a few more of these:) I've got a few more projects to share with you, so make sure to check back tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping by!

BLESSED EASTER CARD:

Hello there! I have another card to share with you from Card Night. Unfortunately, I couldn't get this to photograph very well. Actually, I seem to have that problem with every card~must be the photographer:( We used the set Blessed Easter from the Occasions Catalog. I used a Very Vanilla base and ran the front through the Big Shot using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. Next. I used the Ovals Collections Framelits to cut out the opening.

I stamped the image on the inside in Pistachio Pudding. I then laid a piece of Vellum Cardstock on top and stamped the image again. I trimmed the Vellum down a bit to get the flower image almost centered over the inside image, but I wanted it off a bit to give a shadow effect. I used an Aqua Painter and Pistachio ink to soften up the leaves and stems and add some shading around the tulips. Next, I stamped the flowers in Crumb Cake. I colored them with a Pink Pirouette Marker, cut them out and attached them with Dimensionals.

I did the same process for the front of the card using Glue Dots to attach instead. I added a Crochet Trim bow with a Glue Dot and that's all there is to it!

It looks much better in real life~maybe you could make one and see for yourself:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

COOL KID CARD:

Hello there! Here's another card we made at Card Night that I want to share with you. I loved this set the first time I saw it, probably because I have 2 super awesome amazing cool kid grandbabies who this set was made for:) I started with a Night of Navy base and added a piece of DSP from the Regals DSP Stack in Night of Navy as well. Before I adhered it, I wrapped a piece of Night of Navy Stitched Ribbon around it.

I stamped the dog in Tangerine Tango and colored his cape and shoes with a Soft Sky Marker. I punched him out with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, which is layered upon a Daffodil Delight circle punched out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch. I used the Word Bubbles Framelits to cut out the sentiments along with the Big Shot. Amazing Superhero was stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Tangerine Tango Cardstock and Cool Kid was stamped in Tangerine Tango onto Soft Sky Cardstock.

I stamped Awesome 4 different times with Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Soft Sky and Tangerine Tango pads, and cut out the letters. I adhered them with SNAIL and added an Essentials Wooden Element with Glue Dots. For the inside sentiment I stamped Hooray for Today from Geometrical. It could work for a birthday, a special event or just to let your little buddy know how awesome he is:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

MY MOTHER CARD:

Hello there! We had card Night last night and here's one of the cards we made. It seems like I was just posting last month's~crazy fast how time flies! I used the set My Mother from the Occasions Catalog and started with a Very Vanilla base. I added a piece of the gorgeous Fancy Foil Designer Vellum in Gold on top. I ran the SNAIL along the stripes on the back so you don't see any adhesive through the vellum. I added another layer of Very Vanilla and stamped the sentiment in Crisp Cantaloupe. I adhered a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffle Trim to the back and tucked a sweet little scallop border on top made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

I added a piece of a Tea Lace Doily to the other side and made a loop out of the Gold Sequin Trim, and tied a bow around it using Linen Thread. I stamped and punched out a couple of hearts using the 1" and 3/4" Circle Punches and attached them with Dimensionals.

I finished it off with a few scattered sequins that I attached with Glue Dots. This is a super quick & easy card, but the beautiful bling makes it look like a lot of work went into it. That's the best kind of card:) Make sure to check back tomorrow for more fun from Card Night. Thanks so much for stopping by!
