Hello there! Sorry for the little break. Our amazing kids gave us a trip to the Bahamas for Christmas and we just got back a few days ago:) It was 5 days of paradise! We are truly blessed:) Our sweet little Elise turned 1 a couple of weeks ago, and I'm just now getting a chance to post the card I made for her. I used the Biggest Birthday Ever stamp set along with the Wish Big Framelits, and saved 10% on the bundle:) Such a fun set-I'll be putting this to work a lot! I started with a Pear Pizzazz base and used the same ink for the background confetti. I added a piece of retired DSP on top.
I cut the cake/cupcake piece out of Crumb Cake Cardstock using one of the dies and the Big Shot. I cut down a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to fit behind it and lightly traced the layer cut-outs with a pencil. I then stamped the different layers with Melon Mambo ink, trying to stay within the pencil lines. I erased the pencil lines and attached the white layer to the Crumb Cake piece. I stamped the plate with Smoky Slate ink onto Whisper White and cut it out with my Paper Snips. I attached the plate and cake piece to the DSP with SNAIL.
Next I cut out the frosting with a die from Whisper White Cardstock and colored the sprinkles with Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz & Tempting Turquoise Markers. I attached the frosting with Dimensionals. I used one of the cut-out pieces from the cake to make the candle, stamping it with Tempting Turquoise ink. I made the flame with one of the dies using Daffodil Delight Cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Ready To Pop using Tempting Turquoise ink onto the same cardstock, and stapled it to the base. I stamped the cherry with Melon Mambo ink onto a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and used the cherry die to cut it out. I finished it off by tying a piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around the card and attached one of the fun new Tassels to it from the Holiday Catalog-love them!
I forgot to get a picture before I wrote in the card, so ignore my scribbles:) I used the Party Pop-Up Thinlits on the inside to make it a little more fun. I ran the die through several times using Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz & Tempting Turquoise Cardstock for the confetti, and adhered with Liquid Tombow.
I know I'm going to be in the doghouse with some of you for not posting pictures of the birthday girl. I actually remembered the camera, and had it sitting by my pile to take to the party, but Q was messing with it, and I ended up leaving without it:( Several took pictures with their phones, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get those onto my blog. I'll have to bribe one of my kids...or grandkids to teach me. Thanks so much for stopping by:)
