ARTISAN PROJECT # 10: OWL SET

Welcome back to Day 10! You may need to click on the picture to enlarge. I would like to begin by thanking our son Joel, for getting the ball rolling for me in regards to entering this contest. He bought a bedroom set for his girlfriends little girl KJ. The bedding and lamp had an adorable little owl print and the colors were Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose and Daffodil Delight! KJ had a birthday coming up, so I decided I wanted to make her a set of pictures that would match her new bedroom. And then I thought, this would be a good project to enter for the AA contest. I had this brilliant idea 3 weeks before the entries were due, and thought to myself, 'Do I dare attempt this?' Well, I did and I'm so happy that I did. And I owe it all to my son!

I found some lightweight frames and covered them with DSP and our adhesive sheets. I drew and cut out the bodies of the owls and used several of our punches to embellish them. I attached the frames to dowel rods that I painted with our striped ribbon. This was the first project that I made and once I finished it, it gave me the momentum I needed to keep going.

I want to thank you for visiting my brand new blog and for all of your wonderful comments! Check back one more time tomorrow night and we'll show you the projects we made to swap with our fellow Artisans. And I invite you to continue to stop back as I continue to learn and tweak this blog business!
I'll see you tomorrow night! And now let's stop by Jenn's and see her fabulous finale!
