FREE AS A BIRD NOTE CARD:

Hello there! As I was searching for inspiration for the Bird Ballad Suite, my PRODUCT OF THE WEEK, I was intrigued by this card in the catalog. It took me a couple tries until I had an A-ha! moment and figured out that the artist had used one of the note cards from the Scalloped Note Cards & Envelopes!

I turned one of the note cards inside out, so the colored part was on the inside and the front of the card was white. I stamped the image with Basic Gray Archival ink that I got in a Paper Pumpkin kit. I then used a Blender Pen to add color with Calypso Coral, Blueberry Bushel, Garden Green and Soft Suede inks.

I had to use a light hand and work quickly with the coloring. If I spent too much time in one area, it started to pill. It made me really appreciate the superior quality of our Whisper White Cardstock! I stamped the sentiment with Garden Green ink.

I then used my Paper Snips to cut around the top of the bird image. I used my Paper Trimmer to cut the top section off. Next, I inked up the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder with Cajun Craze ink on the raised side and inserted the note card. I went over the folder with my Bone Folder to transfer the ink to the inside of the note card.

Such a fun design and another cool technique for using the Embossing Folders! I hope you'll give it a try! I've still got a couple more projects to share using the Bird Ballad Suite, so make sure to stop back tomorrow. Thanks so much for coming by:)
