Hello there! We had another laid back day on our second to last day of our cruise. Our stop was in Katakolon, which has some gorgeous beaches. We're not real earlybirds-at least I'm not, so by the time we got to the beach it was pretty much full:( It was tiny and really rocky, so we set off to find another one!
We asked a cab driver where a nice beach was and he said the best ones were about a half an hour away. He took us to the first one which was gorgeous, but kind of crowded. He said no problem, and took us to the second one-perfect!
We had a little tiki bar about 20 feet from us and they made a scrumptious mojito. Since we were a little off the beaten path, there weren't many who spoke much English...but we understood mojito and said YES!
We all had our own little umbrella. With the cold drinks, it was paradise:)
The landscape across the sea was amazing, and so different from home.
It was really hot and after a couple of hours we figured we'd had enough sun. We called Antonis and asked if he could take us to a nice place to eat before we had to head back to the boat.
We got a few pics while we were waiting for him to pick us up.
We wandered up the road from the beach and said good-bye to this beautiful village.
It did occur to me in the cab while driving through the backroads, "OMGosh, did we not learn anything from yesterday? We hopped in a cab with a total stranger who is taking us a half hour away from the boat, and if he decided to rob us or worse, no one would know where we are.
But I knew God took care of us the day before and we were in good hands, so sometimes you just have to take a risk. We were also in good hands with Antonis:)
So much beauty everywhere...they even decorated their parking spots.
As much as we loved this secluded beach, Antonis delivered even more for lunch:)
He took us to his friend's restaurant and it was incredible!
This was the view from our table. The only bad thing about this place was that we didn't get to spend much time here:(
We really enjoyed trying different wines and beers from different parts of the world:)
Such an amazing day!
We told Antonis we wanted to bring our kids & grandkids back here some day and he told us he'd hook us up! Good-bye for now Antonis...hope to see you again someday:)
When we got back on the boat I went to Spin & Win and got this gorgeous Toile Tidings DSP, which coordinates with the cardinal Toile Christmas stamp set I got earlier, and a package of Metallic Pearls.
As usual, SU! knew how to add the perfect ending to the perfect day-the Perfectly Plaid Bundle! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...although I'm not quite ready to make any Christmas cards yet!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to visit tomorrow for our last day in the Greek Isles:)
