SU!P FRIENDS! After we had earned the Incentive Trip to Maui, SU! contacted us to let us know they were giving us an excursion of our choice as part of the trip. There were several different options--Snorkeling & Sailing, Ocean Center Excursion, Waterfalls & Rainforest Hike, Shopping Shuttle and the Pineapple Farm.
Some of them sounded really fun but most of them started way too early for me. If you know me at all you know I don't do mornings😆 The Pineapple Farm Excursion started at 11am, so that was the one for me!
Honestly, if it were up to me I would have just plopped at the pool and beach every day, but I didn't want to reject such a nice gift from SU! My brain was on overload already and didn't think it could handle any more information, but it was kind of interesting to see one of the last working pineapple operations first hand.
It was interesting to learn that they get 3 generations of pineapples from replanting these shoots. They have different crops for the different stages, and it takes about 18 months to get a ripe pineapple. That's about all of the information I retained😆
Our guide told us that when he gets there at 5 in the morning he sees lots of deer, wild boars and rats! No thank you--I'll stick with stamps, ink and paper! Another part of our excursion included a gourmet lunch at the restaurant across from the farm, and it was one of the best meals I have ever had! I wish I would have gotten a picture, but we had roast beef, macadamia-crusted fish, cooked carrots, potatoes and an incredible pineapple cheesecake!
We got to sample fresh pineapples out it the fields, and let me tell you I was keeping my eyes open for those rats!
It was fun to see all the different stages of production. And it was such a beautiful day. It was in the mid 80s but there was a lot of wind because we were between mountains with volcanos!
We also got to take a pair of pineapples home, all boxed and ready to go! so yummy!
When we got back to our room I had this sweet Pillow Gift waiting.
Stampin' Up! does everything top-notch! I love how they tied in our gift to our excursion that day.
These yummy cookies didn't last long!
Look at this adorable Halloween DSP I won for Spin & Win! I'm seeing so many cute projects in my future with these little cuties💗
We then hiked uphill to Monkeypod Kitchen for dinner. We had about an hour and a half wait, which was good because we were hot & sweaty & still full from our gourmet lunch! Here's another beautiful view from one of our walks! Make sure to stop back tomorrow for more. Thanks so much for stopping by!😊
