NO BONES ABOUT IT CARD:

Hello there! Happy New Year to you! I was asked to participate in the Creative Crew on Splitcoaststampers. Myself, along with 4 others will be sharing 4 projects every month with you following 4 different challenges. I'll have a blinkie soon on the right side of this page that you can click on to see the gallery, but I can't get it to work yet~check back later:) The first challenge was a focus on the Color Me Irresistible DSP from the Annual Catalog. I didn't have that paper and knew I wouldn't have it in time for the challenge, so I made my own. It's not exactly the same, but with the help of a couple of embossing folders, I came pretty close:) I used the same colors as in the DSP to duplicate it as much as I could. My little grandbaby Quinten had a birthday a few days after Christmas, so I figured I'd break out my No Bones About it set and Birthday Yay for this challenge.

I started with a Basic Black base and added a layer of Tip Top Taupe Cardstock that I heat-embossed. I inked up the inside of the Woodgrain Embossing Folder with a VersaMark pad, laid the cardstock on top and used a brayer over them to transfer the design to the cardstock. I then sprinkled the cardstock with Clear Embossing Powder and used the Heat Tool to bring out the design.  I repeated the process with the Watermelon Wonder circle using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. I then punched it out using the 2 1/2" Circle Punch. I used a Watermelon Wonder Marker to color in the dots. I have to say that I am quite impressed with myself for duplicating the DSP so close! Lol:)

I added a piece of Bermuda Bay Striped Ribbon to the woodgrain piece and attached it with the Handheld Stapler & Mini Staples. I tucked a piece of Delightful Dijon Cardstock underneath, and stamped his new age onto a scrap piece and punched it out with the 1" Circle Punch. I stamped that along with the sentiment in Delightful Dijon ink. I stamped the sentiment a second time with Watermelon Wonder ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. I then cut out the banner and adhered it with the Liquid Tombow.

I stamped the T-rex with Cucumber Crush ink and then did some 2-Step Stamping with the skeleton image in Basic Black Archival ink. I stamped him onto Whisper White Cardstock and cut him out with Paper Snips. I attached the dino, sentiment and age circle with Dimensionals. I topped him off with a fun little birthday hat stamped in Delightful Dijon ink onto Whisper White and cut it out. I stamped the hat a second time in Watermelon Wonder ink, used the Cupcake Builder Punch to punch out the top and adhered it to the hat with a Glue Dot. I attached the hat with a Dimensional half.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge and was thrilled that I could make it work for my little snoochie as well:) Make sure to stop back tomorrow for another card featuring Decorative Masks. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your 2016 is off to an awesome start!
