So I stamped the denim image onto the Doilies in Midnight Muse, SNAILED them to Whisper White Cardstock and cut them out. I made a trio of Summer Starfruit flowers made with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and Regals Brads, and popped them up with Dimensionals. I pierced the Soft Suede rectangle with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Mat and Tool. I used the Midnight Muse Marker to mimic faux stitching. I also used the Marker to ink up the sentiment and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. I flagged one end with my Paper Snips and attached it to the bottom. Next, I inked up my Brayer in my Midnight Muse Stamp Pad and rolled it onto the Crepe Filter Paper. I rolled it onto the side that was a little rougher, not the smooth side, and instant denim! Kind of in'jean'ius don't you think! :) I attached it onto a piece of Midnight Muse Cardstock for stability and used the brand new Stampin' Distress Tool around the edges to rough it up a bit.
I mounted everything onto a Midnight Muse base and added some DSP from Comfort Cafe and Patio Party. I then wrapped some Summer Starfruit Stitched Ribbon around it and added a bow attached with a Glue Dot. Before I attached the DSP to the card base, I roughed up all the edges with the Distress Tool. This was such a fun card to make and I hope you're as excited as I am about finding some different uses for these new products! Check out the fun flap on the envie!
Onto the second card...
My husband's boss gave us an awesome gift of Omaha Steaks, so I wanted to make him a thank you card. I tried to guy this up-I hope it worked! I started with a 'manly' Island Indigo base. I used the FUN new Borders Scoring Plate that works with the Simply Scored Tool to create the 'masculine' design on the side. I paired the Indigo up with a 'bold' Tangerine Tango DSP from the Sycamore Street DSP.
I stamped the precious packiderm...I mean 'elite elephant' in Sahara Sand and ran it throught the Big Shot with one of the new Oval Framelits from the Spring Catalog. I stamped out 'thanks' in Basic Grey using the Simply Serif Alphabet and punched out the letters with the Owl Builder Punch. I used Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry Cardstock. I inked up the water image from the stamp set Oh Whale, also in the Spring Catalog, and used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to align it properly on the oval. I then attached the letters with Glue Dots. I stamped the elephant again in Tangerine Tango onto the same cardstock, cut out his ear and attached it with a Dimensional. I had some Pumpkin Pie Baker's Twine left over from the Halloween Kits, so I decided to put it to good use inside the Rich Razzleberry Sycamore Street Button.
This was a fun card to make as well. I hope you are getting some ideas of what you can do with this adorable set. And remember, you can get this set or the DSP or the Button & Ribbon Pack for FREE with a $50 order!
I wanted to let you know that my January 'Kits/Cards To Go' was a success! These 2 cards that I posted today will be part of February's choices. I will be posting several more designs over the next 8 days. So make sure you check back tomorrow and see what I have for you! Thanks so much for stopping by-I'll see you back here tomorrow!
