SU!P FRIENDS! I'm so excited to share this fun project today! I found a video of a gumball machine that actually works! Demonstrator Graciela Valdez Vera shared how to make it here:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3tVjA1f6sk
I was so amazed when I saw her awesome project and so thankful she shared how to make it! I made 5 of these for my grandbabies and they were so much fun to make!
Instead of a card, I wanted to make this cute lollipop I saw on Facebook. I started with 2 small plates and adhered a gift card to the inside of one with Glue Dots. I also stapled a straw to the bottom of the plate. Note...move the straw up a little higher, mine was a little flimsy.
On the other plate, I piled up a bunch of candy. I tucked it all inside the plate and used a glue gun to adhere the plates together. You might need an extra pair of hands to help with this process...or use less candy...but that's not near as much fun😜
I could only get Mini M&Ms to work. I tried Skittles and regular-sized M&Ms, but they were a little too big. I traced around a terracotta pot to get a large circle using the Sweet Talk DSP. I cut it out with Paper Snips and cut out the hole for the dome using the Gumball Machine Dies. I then adhered the Gumball Machine Shaker Dome to the back of the DSP, filled it with candy, and adhered the cut-out piece of DSP to the back. I then glued the circle of DSP to the plate bottom.
I followed Graciela's video for making the mechanism to make the working gumball machine, and adhered the base to the plate. I then covered the plates with tissue paper and tied a bow around it. I wanted to make a cute tag, but the kids were all here last night, so I wanted to give the lollipops to them while they were still here.

Like I said, I wanted to decorate the outside a little more, and add a sentiment to the gumball machine, but I ran out of time. I would advise not making 5 of these on the same day you need them, as the mechanism is a little time-consuming. But it was so worth it to see their faces when the candy came out! The big kids thought they were pretty cool too! Thanks so much for stopping by😊
