SU!P FRIENDS! I'm taking a few days off to wallpaper our bedroom. It is WAY overdue and I'm so excited to finally be getting things underway!
Our house is 114 years old and there are lots of cracks in the walls and ceilings, so wallpaper is a necessity for us. I'm an old soul though and love the character of this old house and the charm of wallpapered walls.
It's hard to imagine these walls being painted this turquoise--thankfully it was before our time!
It has been a difficult road to remodel our upstairs in this Covid era. It took months to even be able to find wallpaper. I kept hearing how wallpaper was making a come-back, but the majority of it is huge, gawdy contemporary designs--nothing that would work for us. We must have pitched our wallpapering tools somewhere along the way, and it's been a process trying to find those too!
We ordered new carpet for the steps and upstairs, and wood flooring for our upstairs laundry room in October and it's still not here. Our bedroom furniture won't be here until June or July. Our new Purple mattress is here but we won't get to try that out until we get our bedroom done. But boy am I ready! Wallpapering at age 59 is A LOT harder than at 29!
I'm glad we only have the laundry room, hallway and maybe a ceiling or two left, because I don't know how much longer this old body will be able to do this. I can handle up and down a ladder all day, but getting up and down off the floor is BRUTAL!😆😕😓 I'm thankful that I'm still able to do it though! Thanks so much for stopping by--I'll keep sharing the progress!😁
