I also used the Pocket Framelits-it make a perfect little pencil:) I started out cutting 2 pockets each from Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry Cardstock. I trimmed off the tabs as shown. I also cut 2 pieces of Crushed Curry Cardstock measuring 2 1/4" x 1" for the side panels.
I then used one of the pennants from Playful Pennants to scallop the top of the Crushed Curry Cardstock pocket pieces as shown.
Repeat the process for the 2 side panels as well.
I then put the Crushed Curry pieces on the Simply Scored and scored on the tips of the scallops. You'll have to adjust the spacing a bit to get them to line up. It works better to butt the flat side to the top & score from the bottom, as the points get bent & your score lines my end up crooked.
Next I added a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock measuring 1" x 1/2" to the point of the Crumb Cake pocket with Liquid Tombow.
I flipped it over and trimmed off the excess along the point. This forms the lead of the pencil.
I cut a strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock measuring 7" x 1 1/2". I scored it at 1/4" on both sides of the short side and scored it at 2 1/4" & 4 3/4" on the long side. Fold on all the score lines and cut notches out as shown. I added Liquid Tombow to the tabs and attached each pocket, forming a little box.
I then adhered the Crushed Curry scalloped pieces to the front & back of the box with Liquid Tombow. I attached the side panels with rolled Glue Dots to keep them flush. I wrapped a strip of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock measuring 1/2" x 8" around the bottom of the box and adhered it with Liquid Tombow. On top of that I added a strip of Silver Foil measuring 1/2" x 8", which I scored two lines on first. I attached it with Glue Dots.
For the tag I cut a strip of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 3/4" x 1 1/2". I drew lines on it using a ruler & a Pool Party Marker. I stamped the sentiment with the Pick A Pennant Stamp Set using Memento Black ink. I then used the 1/8" Circle Handheld Punch to punch out the circles and made small cuts with my Paper Snips to resemble notebook paper. If you're planning on making a bunch of these you'd probably want to skip this step and just stamp on notebook paper:) I attached the sentiment with Mini Dimensionals.
These were so much fun to make and you could get really creative as to what to put inside. I think Little Debbie makes a school bus brownie or little Back to School cakes. Or you could fill it with crayons, colored pencils or mini notebooks...the ideas are endless:) I hope you were inspired by another use for the Playful Pennants which is the product I'm focusing on this week. And remember if you place a $50 order by midnight on Sunday, September 9th, you'll get a package of the Glitter Enamel Dots for FREE! Thanks so much for stopping by:)
