Hello there! I wanted to share the projects that we made at me Coffee Break class yesterday, which ended up pretty much being a disaster, lol. It was definitely a learning process and I know what NOT to do next time:) Obviously I wanted to do a coffee theme, and we have 2 different coffee sets, so I figured that's perfect. I'll have one half of the table use one, the other half use the other. When they magically all get done at the same time, we'll just switch projects:) Well I didn't take into account that both projects used the same Coffee Cups Framelits:( Mistake #1.
When I got to the coffee house to set up I thought to myself, this table looks bigger than I remembered-we'll be in good shape. Well the room got really small with 9 women crammed into it, so I knew then there was going to be no moving from 1 project to the next:( Mistake #2.
I'm a wood-mount gal and so I'm used to having my stamps all ready to go when I pick them up. I should have had a lot more blocks there so more people could have been stamping instead of waiting for the few blocks I brought to free up:( Mistake #3.
I was so happy to have 1 brand new stamper there, and I was able to walk her through all the steps. She did an amazing job, and I kept reassuring her it wasn't usually this chaotic. She was very sweet and said she had fun. I hope I didn't scare her away:)
For these projects I used the Coffee Cafe Bundle from the Annual Catalog, and the Merry Cafe stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.
I think the best part of the class may have been these adorable little favors. I found some mini coffee cups on Etsy and covered them with Coffee Break DSP.
I cut out images from one of the sheets and added them to the cups, along with the Corrugated Elements, Subtles Enamel Shapes and Baker's Twine.
I added the fun little splash stick to the lid with the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits. I glued the heart onto a strip of cardstock and stuck it into the slit in the cup. The cuteness factor of these fun little favors may have redeemed me with these ladies:) No actually, they are just an awesome bunch of friends who know we all make mistakes:) Thanks so much for stopping by:)
Goodness, Laura! Well, I am sure your ladies pulled together, we're all so good like that, aren't we? I also have a brand new customer coming to my stamp camp next Sunday and I want everything to go perfectly, too! I'm sure everyone went home from your event happily!!! Your favors are ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE too, and your "reputation" proceeds you so, they will all be back; lol! TFS!
ReplyDeleteThank you Donna:) You always have such encouraging & kind words to share:) It was pretty awful, but they made the best of it, lol:)
