NEEDLEPOINT NOOK TREATHOLDER:

Hello there! I'm so excited to share this sweet little treatholder that I adapted from a card that Artisan Design Team member Jackie Aitken shared on the SU! website. You can see her adorable cards on the March 14 post entitled Needlepoint Spool Cards. I used the Envelope Punch Board and my PRODUCT OF THE WEEK-Needle & Thread Bundle.

I started with 2 pieces of Crumb Cake Cardstock and 2 pieces of Wood Textures DSP, all measuring 3"x 2". I put each piece in the Envelope Punch Board, butting the long side to the top. I lined up the left side flush with the punch. I punched it, flipped it over and punched again. I then repeated on the other ends. I then used the Stampin' Trimmer to cut off the middle tabs, making a spool.

I glued the DSP to the cardstock to form the front and back of the treatholder. For the front spool, I wrapped a 20" piece of Old Olive Linen Thread around it and tied a bow.

For the box I cut a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock measuring 5 1/4" x 4". On the long side I scored it at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 3 3/4" and 5". On the short side I scored it at 2 3/4". I cut the bottom score lines up to the horizontal score line as shown and cut off the tab at the end. I added Liquid Tombow to the side tab to form a box, and glued the bottom flaps.

I then glued the spools to the front and back of the box using Liquid Tombow.

For the embroidery hoop I layered a piece of Wood Textures DSP on top of a piece of Needlepoint Nook DSP and punched them out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I then cut a frame from the wood DSP using the smallest die in the Layering Circles Framelits. It works best to run the die through upside down so you can see to get it centered on the DSP.

I added tiny drops of Liquid Tombow to the edge of the Needlepoint Nook DSP and attached the frame to form a cute little embroidery hoop.

I used one of the leaf dies to make the top of the embroidery hoop. I attached them to the back of the DSP with Liquid Tombow.

I then cut out some of the flowers from the DSP with Paper Snips and attached them to the hoop with a Dimensional. I stamped the sentiment with Berry Burst ink onto Whisper White Cardstock, and Crushed Curry ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. I cut the words apart and attached with Liquid Tombow. I finished it off with a stick pin that I inserted through the Dimensional.
