MISTLETOE & HOLLY NOVEMBER PAPER PUMPKIN:

Hello there! I'm excited to share this month's Paper Pumpkin kit with you. It's called Mistletoe & Holly and to be honest I thought it kinda sounded old lady, but I was pleasantly surprised! Actually the old lady kit was last month, lol.

Here are the samples made according to the kit directions. I love the color scheme~Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive & Crumb Cake. While I like them both, the striped background card seemed to have too much white for my liking...

(#1)So I tried it with the Crumb Cake base and I like it a lot better:)

Here's the stamp set which will get put to good use for my Christmas cards:) And it came with a Cherry Cobbler Spot.

(#2)For this card I used the Circles Framelits Dies along with the Big Shot using an older pattern from the Brights DSP Stack. I added a Gold Satin Ribbon bow with Glue Dots and used the Wonderful Wreath Framelits to cut out the sentiment using Gold Glimmer Paper.

(#3)On this card I added a holly border with the die cuts provided and tucked 2 of the dotted cardstock pieces underneath. I added a messy swirl underneath the sentiment with Gold Metallic Thread and adhered with Liquid Tombow. I added 2 small banners to cover the seam where I butt the cardstock together. I added a Regals Button on top thread with Old Olive Baker's Twine.

(#4)For this one I added a strip of Season of Cheer Washi Tape across the top. I made a banner out of one of the Cherry Cobbler cardstock pieces and stamped the holly image as a background. I cut a label out of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the Deco Labels Framelits and Big Shot. I stamped the flourish with the Oh What Fun set in Crumb Cake ink. I added a Gold Cording Trim bow around the mistletoe and tucked a piece of a Tea Lace Doily under the banner.

(#5)On this card I added a strip of Season of Cheer Washi Tape underneath the sentiment and added a layer of Gold Glitter Ribbon on top. Notice one of the cute envelopes in the background that came with the kit. It kind of bothered me though pairing it with the green stripe going in the opposite direction...

I had the brilliant idea of adding an envelope liner and coloring the border with an Old Olive Marker, but I forgot about the seal adhesive, which didn't color well at all...

(#6)So I ended up covering the whole flap with DSP, as you can see in the background. It was a case of
OCD-NCD (No Can Do:) Now I'll be able to sleep tonight! For this card, I used the negative piece of the mistletoe die-cuts and trimmed it to size. I added a Gold Satin Ribbon bow and adhered it with Glue Dots. I think this might be my favorite alternate project made with the kit, which I like to save for last, but I had to get the envelope issue out of the way:)

(#7)For this card I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to add tiny dots of glue to the cardstock using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. I then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I added a piece of White Glitter Ribbon underneath the Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

(#8)For the last card I added a strip of Season of Cheer Washi Tape and added a piece of Gold Satin Ribbon on top. I added a messy swirl underneath the sentiment with Gold Metallic Thread and added a few sequins from the Metallics Assortment.

I didn't make any 3-D projects with this kit, as I figured this time of year everyone wants as  many cards as they can get. I want to give a shout-out to everyone who is a current subscriber or who subscribed last month, as SU! donated $36, 378 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Thank you so much for your help!!!

Just a reminder that we won't be meeting on our usual night this month as it falls on Thanksgiving. We will meet on Thursday, December 3rd instead. If you're interested in joining us, I can order a Refill Kit for you. It won't have the stamp set or Cherry Cobbler Spot, but you can use mine. You'll need to let me know ASAP so I can get it ordered in time to be here next Thursday. Thanks so  much for stopping by!
