STIPPLED BLOSSOMS CARD:

Hello there! As promised, I'm back with another floral retiring set today. I used Stippled Blossoms and Love & Sympathy, both of which are already gone:( Garden Party from yesterday is gone in wood, but still available in clear, as of now. I started with a brand new Tip Top Taupe base and added a piece of new Cherry On Top DSP which I ran through the Big Shot using the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder. It can be found in the Occasions Catalog. It didn't carry over into the new catalog so it's only available until June 2. I used a Sponge Dauber in Whisper White Craft ink and lightly rubbed over the design to bring out some of the detail.

Next, I dabbed a tiny row of Liquid Tombow along the bottom edge of the DSP and adhered the lovely new Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim. I stamped the flowers in Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride and cut them out with my Paper Snips. The leaves were made with Mint Macaron, stamping off with the base layer. I attached them to a Whisper White oval made with the Ovals Framelits and used the Occasions Paper-piercing Pack, Mat & Tool to add some interest.

I added a lace bow and attached it with Glue Dots and trimmed down a Tea Lace Doily and tucked it under the oval with Liqiud Tombow. I finished it off with a few Basic Pearls.

I had planned on showing different retiring sets right up until the cut-off date, but they are already flying off the shelves~as of now, 10 sets are completely gone, 19 sets are only availalbe in either wood or clear, so I think I'm going to start focusing on my June CLASS OF THE MONTH:SPRINKLES OF LIFE which will feature the brand new Ronald McDonald set and lots of brand new products:) Check back on June 1st to see it.
Here's the retiring products:

GARDEN PARTY CARDS:

Hello there! I'm back with another set that will be retiring soon, actually, it's only available as supplies last. The name of this set is Garden Party and for some reason I really like it. As you may have read in previous posts, I'm not usually drawn to flower sets, but I do like this one. I started with a Whisper White base and ran a layer of the same through the Big Shot using the Large Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I then ran another piece through using the Fun Frames Embossing Folders and cut the frame out by hand.

I stamped the flowers in Pool Party, Crushed Curry and 3 of the brand new In Colors-Tip Top Taupe, Cucumber Crush & Watermelon Wonder. They're so fresh and fun, especially for summer:) I used a variety of circle punches to cut them out: 1 1/4", 3/4" and 1/2" Circle Punches. I used one of the circles from the Owl Builder Punch for the smallest flowers. I colored the sentiment with a Bermuda Bay Marker.

I attached the frame and some of the flowers with Dimensionals and tucked a piece of Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine underneath with Glue Dots. I ran two designs of the new Cherry On Top Washi Tape onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and trimmed to size. I stuck them underneath the frame using Glue Dots. I had one lonely Bermuda Bay Candy Dot from the Brights collection begging to be used, so I added it to finish the card.

The only thing retiring on this card is the set Garden Party. But I thought you'd like to see alot of the new products in action.

Here's another card using Garden Party and Big News. I fell in love with this sample in our demonstrator magazine. The sample featured the set Bravo with the sentiment Congrats! Knew You Could, Knew You Would, but I changed it up as our church needs birthday cards more than graduation. I'm kind of ashamed to admit that the only reason I bought the Hooray It's Your Day Kit in the Occasions Catalog was for the starburst stencil that I used on this card. But I think it really makes the card pop and I"ll have fun making the cards that come in the kit, so there, I justified it:)

I started with a Crumb Cake base and stamped the leaves in Crumb Cake ink as well. I then stamped the VersaMark pad on a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock using the stencil. It helps to use a dab of repositional adhesive to keep the stencil in place. I then covered the cardstock with Crushed Curry Embossing Powder and used the Heat Tool to emboss it. I then took a Sponge Dauber and used Crushed Curry ink around the edge to give it a little depth.

I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay onto Whisper White Cardstock and adhered it to the Curry piece, which I attached to the base with Dimensionals. The other sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake. I then stamped the flowers using Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry stamp pads, and Watermelon Wonder & Old Olive Markers. I cut them all out using my Paper Snips and adhered with Glue Dots and Dimensionals.

I then added a tiny paperclip from the Basic Hodgepodge Clips and tied a Linen Thread bow around it.

I truly love everything about this card, and although I liked the graduation one better, I'm glad I was able to tweek it and make it work for a birthday. These flowers were really fun to work with and I could have easily came up with some other cards, but I wanted to get busy on a different set while it's still available. Ironically, it's another flower set too, lol.  Here's a list of the retiring products:

GRADUATION TENTS:

Hello there! We survived the graduation yesterday and I wanted to share a few more ideas with you. I made 30 of these tents to scatter around on the tables to add a little color. I used Night of Navy, Crushed Curry and Whisper White Cardstock. I used a retired alphabet die along with the Big Shot to cout out the numbers. I used up the rest of my Crushed Curry Striped Ribbon and stapled it to the cardstock using the Handheld Stapler and Mini Staples. The stars were made with Champagne Glimmer Paper and cut out with the Stars Framelits.

The most time-consuming part of these was the little pompoms. I used the brand new Cotton Paper, along with the Fringe Scissors, and glued them around a toothpick. I made the pennants using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, which I just realized is retiring. I used the retiring set Embellished Events for the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. I finally broke down and got the stamp set just because of the cake, but I'm glad I'll get some use out of the sentiments too.

This was the centerpiece for Kevin's table.

I made the pennant using the retiring Metro Type Alphabet and Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon.

I finally had to put the gum glove in my purse, as Quinten was single-handedly trying to chew it all.

Here's Kevin's table. There's too much on it, but I had a hard time pulling stuff cuz he was just so darn cute and he wrote the funniest stories-I had to leave it all.

I had a memory jar for family & friends to write special things to Kevin and had to bring Lamby.

I covered the card box with his school colors and used the Hello You Thinlits for the sentiment.

We found these cool blocks at Target and made some fun photo cubes with them.

My sister and her hubby gave these out as birth announcements...

I thought they were so cute and clever back then, and they still are.

We brought a little bit of his artwork.

As you may know, I'm not a scrapbooker fan, but Project Life makes it less painful, lol. I used the Happiness Is Card Collection and Accessory Pack. These aren't very good pictures...I just posted them because I may need the ideas in case I ever have to do another one.

In case you're still with me...

This was alot of work crammed into 2 weeks and I'm really exhausted. I think I'm going to eat supper and go to bed. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your day:)

GRADUATION CARD IN A BOX:

Hello there! I was hoping to have been back sooner with some cards made with retiring sets, but I got a little more than I bargained for with my nephews graduation. I was supposed to do 2 display tables and a scrapbook, but I got an additional 30 tables tacked on. I decided to try my hand at a Card in a Box.

There's tons of tutorials out there and this is the one I used:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKWp-fz-ukk. The first one came together really quickly and easily, so I decided to knock out 30 of them. I kept them pretty simple as I knew I'd be under the gun.

I used Crushed Curry and Night of Navy Cardstock and ink. I did use quite a bit of retiring products, so if you think you'd like to make some, you'll need to act quickly. The retiring products will only be around until June 2, and not everything is guaranteed to be around until then. I used the set Starburst Sayings for the sentiment and the coordinating Starburst Framelits with the Big Shot to cut it out.

I used various DSPs, all of which are retiring. I made the banners and stars out of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the Stars Framelits and Bitty Banners Framelits. I cut out the numbers with a retired alphabet die. I added a bow in Crushed Curry Baker's Twine.

I stapled some retired ribbon to some of the numbers using the Handheld Stapler and Mini Staples. I used Glue Dots to adhere the numbers to the Glimmer Paper and attached the banners to the DSP with Dimensionals. The stars are attached to the box using Window Sheets cut into small strips. I used Liquid Tombow to adhere the Window Sheet strips.

For the backs, I added some Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon...

and retired Night of Navy ribbon.

I used several stamp sets-some of which are retiring, and the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I used the Word Bubble Framelits to cut out the sentiments. I used Beach House and Sweet Sadie Washi Tape. I finished off the boxes with some Frosted Sequins, which are available on the Clearance Rack for next to nothing.

See the end of the post for all the retiring products and discounts on some:)

Something To Say stamp set...

And the really cool thing about these Cards in a Box, is that after they've served their purpose as table decorations, they can be tucked into an envelope and mailed out to the other graduates in Kevin's class. I used the Envelope Punch Board to make custom-sized envelopes using Core'dinations Cardstock, also found on the Clearance Rack.

I'm hoping to get some other things made for the tables, so hopefully I'll get time to share them as well. Check back.
