2013 ARTISAN ENTRY #6:BEST OF EVERYTHING CARD:

Hello there! You should have just come from Lauri's blog and her amazing project! Today I have another card to share with you using Best of Everything.

I love everything Primitive and Folk Art and this set seemed to fall into those catagories when I first saw it, so I had to have it right away. And then it just sat there for the longest time. I didn't use it until I found out it was retiring. Why I waited til then to give it some love, I'll never know!

Like I mentioned yesterday, I wanted to show alot of versatility with my projects, so I made several different sized cards. I don't usually make square cards because I don't want my card ladies to have to pay extra for shipping, so this was a fun change of pace.

This is much more my style than yesterday's card. I'm better at 'cute' and symmetrical. I broke out my brand new sewing machine for this card and had lots of fun working with different stitches, trying to mimic the style of the images in the stamp set.

For this project I added lots of layers and lots of whimsical borders. I took the rubber off of the Buttons & Blossoms Wheel and Sticky Stripped it to a clear block and then embossed the image using Whisper White Craft ink. The colors I used were Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Real Red and Whisper White.

I made a matching envelope using Polks Dot Parade DSP and the Simply Scored. This is my kind of card and I had a lot of fun making it. Thanks so much for joining us in the Hop. Next up is Kandi and her project-can't wait to see what she has going today!
