QUINTEN'S FIRST BIRTHDAY:

Hello there! Our little grandbaby had his first bithday on December 29th and here's the card I made for him. He loves 'Yo Gabba Gabba', so we went with that theme for his birthday party. I started with a Tempting Turquiose base and added a background with the Confetti set. Next, I added a couple of strips of DSP from the Paper Stack. I used Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango from the Brights Stack. His favorite character is Brobee, so I needed to figure out how I'd put him together. As usual, I was throwing this together as I'm running out the door, so I didn't have a lot of time to work with my punches and dies. Most of it was just cut out with my Paper Snips, but for his body I used the brand new Oval Framelits from the Occasions Catalog. I used one of the biggest ovals-not exactly sure which one, sorry. I ran it through the Big Shot with Lucky Limeade Cardstock. I ran it through again with Garden Green Cardstock and cut stripes out of it kind of jagged to resemble fur-think caffeine overload cutting. I made his arms and popped them up with Dimensionals. For his eyes, I started with Whisper White Cardstock and used the Bird Builder Punch to punch out 2 of the wings. I rounded them out with my Paper Snips to look like his eyes. Next, I laid them on Basic Black Cardstock and traced around them making them a bit bigger and cut them out. I used the Owl Builder Punch for his pupils. For his mouth, I punched out an oval using the Large Oval Punch in Tangerine Tango and used that as a guide for the shape of his mouth. Again, I traced around it and enlarged it a bit in Basic Black. I also made a smaller one in Basic Black for the inside of his mouth. I used the Large Oval for his eyebrows also and just cut away to get the shape I wanted. I hand cut the Tangerine Tango horns on the top of his head. For the sentiment, I used the Memorable Moments set and coordinating Labels Collection Framelits. I added a couple little flags in Tempting Turquoise from the Brights Paper Stack. The 1 was punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and I layered it with a Lucky Limeade circle with the 1" Circle Punch, and used lots of Dimensionals to make it pop.

Olivia worked really hard on all the cupcakes

and the cake. She even made the cupcakes in different flavors. DJ Lance is chocolate. Muno is Red Velvet, Tooty is vanilla, Foofah is strawberry, and Plex is lemon.

She did an awesome job!
