PATTERNED OCCASIONS CARD:

Hello there! I'm sorry the lighting isn't the best on this card, but the camera has been acting up so I just took what I could get! Even though it's kinda dark, I gotta say, I love this card. It has all of my favorites...red, coffee and Chocolate, Chip that is. It's pretty quick and easy too, so it gets even better! I used my favorite SAB set-Patterned Occasions, which you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase. I just don't think it would even be possible to make an ugly card with this set-it's so darn cute! I started with a Chocolate Chip base and ran it through the Big Shot with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder-one of my favorites also. I used the red paper from Storytime DSP. It's actually Riding Hood Red, but it works just fine with the Real Red ink and ribbon that I used.

I ran a piece of Crumb Cake through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder-my MOST favorite folder! While I was at my Big Shot station, I ran a piece of Chocolate Chip through using one of the Designer Frames Folders and then cut the frame out with one of the Labels Collection Framelits. I'm not a huge fan of these Framelits-kinda going against my favorites theme, but I covered up the pointy sides with ribbon, so it helped. I would much rather just have some simple, normal shapes. A scalloped oval in this size would be ideal! I've shared my thoughts with SU! on this, so who knows? Next, I stamped the image in Chocolate Chip ink and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. I stamped the coffee cup again in Real Red, cut it out and popped it up with a Dimensional on top of the Chocolate Chip one. I took my Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat and poked a couple of holes on the pointy sides of the frame. I kind of trimmed some of the excess cardstock away and made a slit for the Real Red Stitched Ribbon to fit through. You may have to cut the end of the ribbon at an angle to get it through, and maybe even add a little bit of glue to the end to make it a little stiffer. Once you get the ribbon through, you're home free. Just tie the knots gently.

Finally, I added a Naturals Button with Linen Thread through the the button holes, and attached it with Glue Dots. I hope you enjoyed a few of my favorite things on this sweet cup o' joe card. And now onto the lovely little box I promised you...

I made this for my wonderful hostess this month. She's like me and loves Crumb Cake, so I thought I'd start with one of our awesome Kraft Gift Boxes. I added some of the dainty Tea For Two DSP that's in the Spring Catalog-very lovely! I covered the top of the box along with the flap. On top of the flap, I added a row of the sweet Vanilla Flower Trim-I think it might be my most favorite thing in the catalog. I tucked a little piece of lace under the flap with one of the White Tea Lace Doilies.

For the tag, I used the Pop Up Posies Kit that is also featured in the Spring Catalog. It comes with the embossed Crumb Cake tags and everything you need to  make a bunch of flowers. I added a Vintage Brad and one of the flowers from the Flower Trim to the center of the Calypso Coral posie-I'm guessing that's what kind of flower it is? The sentiment stamp is exclusive to this Kit and is included. I tucked a Natural Ribbon flag underneath, adorned with a row of Basic Pearls.

As a closure for the box, I added 2 of the vanilla brads that come with the Kit. They're intended for the flower centers, but I thought they worked wonderfully in this capacity also. The twine is also included in the Kit, and I just wrapped it around the brads to secure it. I added a touch of the Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon on the side to balance out the ample flower. I finished it off with a pair of Basic Pearls. The box holds about a dozen pieces of chocolate, so hopefully my hostess will be enjoying her gift for a few days-or at least a few hours, which would be the case with me!

I hope you've been noticing that I'm trying to give you several options for some of the products on these cards. That way, if you're interested in earning some FREE SAB goodies, you'll have lots of ideas for how to use them. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I'll see you back here tomorrow with another card!
