SIMPLY SNOWFLAKE NOVEMBER 2014 PAPER PUMPKIN:

Hello there! Back again with another past Paper Pumpkin from last November, called Simply Snowflake. Hopefully we're not going to be seeing any snowflakes for awhile:)

Here's the stamp set included in the kit, along with a Lost Lagoon Spot.

Here's the card made according to the instructions.

And the inside.

While I love Lost Lagoon and Soft Sky, I didn't like the Lost Lagoon ink~I preferred the more subtle Smoky Slate.

For this card, I cut off one of the top panels and made a pocket card. I added a Tea Lace Doily and heat-embossed the top of the card using Whisper White Craft ink and White Embossing Powder.

I added some of the washi tape and a silver snowflake die-cut, included in the kit.

For this card, I started with a Lost Lagoon base. I stamped the background with Whisper White Craft ink and cut apart a couple of snowflakes to make the trees. I cut the snow from Whisper White Cardstock and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to both using the 2-Way Glue Pen. I put a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper behind one of the tags included in the kit, and adhered to the base. I added a pair of Real Red cardinals made with the Tree & Owl Builder Punches.

I started with another Lost Lagoon base and used the Berry Basket Die for the scallop edge. I cut squares from the Subtles Color Cllection and adhered them in 2 rows on the base. I then popped the snowflakes out of the silver die-cut sheet and laid it on top of the DSP squares using Dimensionals. I added the tag and other elements included with the kit.

I was kinda going for a funky & fresh approach with this card~think Target...not sure if I pulled it off, but it was kind of fun attaching the letters without worrying if they were straight or evenly spaced. I used the letters that I punched out of the tags and attached using Liquid Tombow. I added the silver reinforcers and used the 1/4" Circle Handheld Punch to make a hole in the centers, going through the top layer of Soft Sky Cardstock as well.

I had some fun with the inside by punching holes in the centers of the snowflakes and stringing them through the baker's twine, also included with the kit. I used a Glue Dot on the back of each to keep them in place.

This card was inspired by Pinterest. It's compiled of several different ideas I saw. I started with a Blushing Bride base which I ran through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I then added a Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper banner on top. Next, I added a piece of washi tape to the top of one of the tags provided and stamped the sentiment with Smoky Slate ink. I made a wreath with the Lost Lagoon snowflake die-cuts and adhered them with Liquid Tombow. I added a Blushing Bride Cotton Ribbon bow and added some rhinestones from the kit. I used the centers from the silver reinforcers to add a little bling to the wreath.

Finally, I made this cute little snowflake box. I added a piece of DSP from the Subtles Color Collection and a Vintage Faceted Button.

I basically made a belly band with one of the snowflake card bases by scoring it at 1" from the scored lines, which will fall on the back of the card base. I scored the right snowflake as directed in the kit instructions, and used a Dimensional to hold it down. I cut the snowflake off of the left side and butt it up to the the other half, using a Dimensional to attach it.

I then made a simple box to fit inside the belly band. It measures roughly 6 1/4" x 5 1/4" to 5 1/2". I scored at 1" on each side and cut the corners as shown.

I cut one of the triangles off the ends, and adhered together using Liquid Tombow.
The first box I made had to much space around the belly band, and the second box was too tight, grrr.

I had to make another score line to make it a bit smaller, and trim the cardstock a tad, but it worked. You may be better at figuring 1/8ths than me:)

Finally, it should look something like this.

I made up 4 of the tags included in the kit, shaved a hair off one of the ends, and they found a perfect home in the box.

Okay I think that's enough for one day! I've got one last kit to share with you tomorrow and then I have a couple of other projects. Thanks so much for stopping by:)

SERIOUSLY AMAZING AUGUST 2014 PAPER PUMPKIN:

Hello there! Back again with a few alternate ideas for the Seriously Amazing Paper Pumpkin kit from last August. I thought this was a really fun kit and I had trouble coming up with alternate ideas at first, but I did come up with a few:)

Here's the stamp set included with the kit and it comes with a Hello Honey Spot.

These are the projects made according to the instructions~like I said, cute huh?

This was the first idea I came up with...it looked better in my head, lol. I started with an Always Artichoke base and layered it with a piece of Hello Honey Cardstock that I ran through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. On top of that I layered a piece of Crumb Cake Striped Ribbon and finished it with components from the kit.

I saw the idea for this card on Pinterest. I used one of the cutout pieces as a stencil and used Sponge Daubers to create a rainbow effect. I used Hello Honey, Melon Mambo, Lost Lagoon & Always Artichoke pads. I added some Melon Mambo Cotton Ribbon and cut some of the die-cut circles in half to make the scalloped border. I cut one of the striped card bases in half to have some extra to make the pennant, along with Always Artichoke Cardstock.

This might be my favorite of the bunch. I started with a Basic Black base and added a piece of DSP from the Neutrals Color Collection. I added one of the fun Expressions Natural Elements and an In Color Blossom Accent. I finished it off with a piece of Silver 1/8" Ribbon. Notice the fun envelopes that came with this kit~love them!

For this card I punched out the circles on the die-cut sheet and used used it for the background. I attached it with Dimensionals onto a Whisper White base. I added some Melon Mambo Cotton Ribbon and a Brights Button.

I started with a Melon Mambo base for this card and attached the bulk of the stripe DSP that I had cut. I wrapped the Whisper White Baker's Twine around the die cut piece before I attached it with Dimensionals. That's pretty much it~easy peasy!

I've still got more to share, so make sure you swing by again tomorrow:) Thanks so much for stopping by!

WISH BIG PAPER PUMPKIN JULY 2014 KIT:

Hello there! As mentioned in my previous post, I held a Paper Pumpkin Party a few days ago, and I dug out the past kits that are still available to Paper Pumpkin subscribers. This kit is called Wish Big and was the kit for July of last year. To be honest, I wasn't overly impressed with it at the time. I made a couple projects pretty close to the instructions, and then buried the box in the closet.

Here's the stamp set included with the kit, along with a Blackberry Bliss Spot and a whole roll of Whisper White Satin Ribbon:)

These are the projects made according to the instructions. Pretty blah to me.

When I dug out the box and began working with it, I was pleasantly surprised with the alternate projects I came up with:) For this card, I added a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock which I ran through the Big Shot using the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I cut off a strip of the Soft Sky sticker sheet and added it to the bottom.

On this card, I used the tiny star to stamp the background using Smoky Slate ink. I added a piece of Soft Sky Cardstock and rounded the corners using the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch. I cut off one of the panels of one of the boxes and layered it on top. I simply cut the striped sticker into smaller pieces for the candles.

I used another panel of the box I cut up for this card and made a pennant out of it. I cut a thin strip of Whisper White Cardstock~the width of one of the rolls of Bohemian Washi Tape and covered the cardstock. It was a little lighter than the stripe on the box, so I added a second layer of washi tape and it was perfect:) I used the Neutrals Color Collection for the DSP and sprinkled a few sequins around from the Metallics  Sequin Assortment.

For this card, I started with a Soft Sky base and added a piece of Bohemian DSP to it. I've had this paper since May and this is the first time I've used it. We were very limited with the DSP we could order during the Preorder for the catalog. I broke down and ordered it even though I didn't really like it, and every time I've pulled it out to use it for a project, I say 'gross' and put it back...but I finally found the perfect use for it:) I added a tiny button from the Brights Buttons.

And speaking of gross...this is why I don't make flowers. Look at that thing! It's not even worth commenting on, lol.

This was one of my favorite projects made with the kit. I used the sets Work of Art and Gorgeous Grunge for the background using Blushing Bride ink. I layered a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the striped stickers I cut down to fit it, and used the Essentials Paper-piercing Pack, Mat & Tool for the border. I used a Smoky Slate Marker for the faux stitching. I used Watermelon Wonder Cardstock and ink for the sentiment. I used some of the Gold Metallic Thread under the heart~fun! And added a few Metallic Sequins.

Here was my alternate project I made at the time I got the kit...not too exciting.

And last but not least...I think this may be my favorite:) I used what was left of the box I cut up and came up with this fun little guy. Perfect for Halloween...which will be here before we know it!

I took the box apart, and cut it to look like this. I scored a 1" from each of the score lines.

It should look something like this after everything is scored and folded.

I used Fast Fuse to adhere the box in the back.

I folded the bottom sides in and tucked the bottom flap inside...no need for adhesive.

I used the Word Window Punch with Pumpkin Pie Cardstock for his eyes and added some googlie eyes on top. I cut apart one of the stars for his horns and adhered to the back using Liquid Tombow. His mouth was made with the Balloon Framelits using Crushed Curry Cardstock. I added a piece of Pumpkin Pie Cotton Ribbon and strung the tag through it using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.

Here's what it looks like from the back~don't mind my scribbles...I put the measurements there for ribbon, etc.

I stuck a 4" x 6" Cello Bag in the box and filled it with Hugs & Kisses and tied it with a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine, also included with the kit.

It's amazing what you can come up with once you get started...even with something you didn't like initially:) There's still lots more to come, so make sure to stop back tomorrow. Thanks so much for looking!

PAPER PUMPKIN PARTY:

Hello there! I held my Paper Pumpkin Party on Thursday night and wanted to share some of the fun with you:) I was planning on posting this yesterday, but my little buddy had the flu and wanted to keep grandma close by. No way was I gonna pass up the snuggling:) With the help of my sweet daughter & hubby, we made a pumpkin cake roll, oatmeal sandwich cookies with pumpkin filling and pumpkin cupcakes with salted caramel filling.

They were quite yummy, but I gotta get the leftovers out of here!

I had a few surprises waiting for them. First, they each received a Stamp Case that they can use to store their stamps and Spots. I made them each a fun little pumpkin favor, filled with chocolate of course:)

I recycled the tissue and stickers from previous kits of mine.

Inside the case, each got a SNAIL and an upgraded clear block...and more chocolate. One can never have enough chocolate!

Next, I had a Christmas in July project for them to make. They each received the past Paper Pumpkin kit Noel to stamp and take home with them.

Finally, I let them each pick out a door prize, as my stash has grown quite large!

There was lots to choose from...kits, stamp sets, DSP, embossing folders, cardstock...

stamp pads, fabric, ribbon, buttons.markers, twine and more:)

I also had alot of the available past kits on display with lots of alternate project ideas.

One of the perks of being a Paper Pumpkin subscriber is that you can order past kits, as quantities last.

I had a few other kits that featured treat holders, but I had made them all up and gave them away for Valentine's Day, Halloween & Thanksgiving. It was awesome to have everything thought up, prepped for me and delivered right to my door:)

It was a fun kick-off and it was great seeing friends I hadn't seen in awhile, and we all had a really good time together. I'd love to have you join us for our next Pumpkin Party which will be held on August 27th. And there's no better time to sign up!
